History

About Scott Streeter & True Form Design & Mfg.

I started my fabrication career early. When I was around 6 years old my father pulled up behind a truck with a heavy duty trailer hitch at a stop light. I asked, ” how are all those pieces of metal glued together?” “they are welded” my father told me. And that was the beginning of a journey I would embark on to master the skill of design, fabrication, machining and manufacturing.

Legos were always a favorite toy inside and later, 2x4s’ and plywood for outside play. By the time high school started, I transitioned to metal as a favorite medium. ROP welding classes all through Shasta High School in Redding, CA provided a perfect place to repair my CJ5 after a nights of 4wheeling in the Redding out back. I quickly excelled and was elevated to complex projects in the classes.

After a short two years in Santa Barbara at the City College taking welding, drafting and art classes, I moved to the North Bay area to settle down with the love of my life, Kim. Through a close family friend and mentor, Gary James, I landed a job at BEPEX in Santa Rosa. There I excelled as a grinder/ polisher and received a fabrication apprenticeship. Bepex at the time was an industry leader for food and chemical process machinery. I learned critical welding, fabrication process, assembly, and industrial techniques there. As the company begun to restructure and move out of the area, I started working part time for Bulldog Machine Inc. As a welder I quickly stepped into the small “job shop” mentality and as Bepex closed, Bulldog became my new home.

There I completed my second apprenticeship through the NMTA program. Now a full journeyman in Welding Fabrication and Machining, I moved into a management position at Bulldog Machine INC. At Bulldog, the relationships that were made with outside vendors, and suppliers have been extremely valuable.

Now at Trueform, many of those strong relationships continue while we introduce our products to the market and help other companies with their products as well. I am also enjoying the benefits of moving into my own shop near my home. It has enabled me to better serve clients.

Family

My Family

Scott lives in Santa Rosa with his wife of 26 years and 4 children. Three girls and a boy.  Josie graduated from SSU and works as a family therapist. Ava is finishing up at Chico State. Ellie lives and works locally and even does child care for a Trueform team member. Levi the only son, will attend SRJC while working at the shop.

The Streeters also do Emergency Foster Care for babies. This is hugely rewarding work and something the Streeters feel called to do. Kim does the lion’s share of this work and specializes in substance exposed babies. She also mentors other foster families.

Because all work and no play is never a good idea, Scott enjoys Mountain Biking in Annadel State Park. Besides biking, Camping at the family property in Shingletown, riding street bikes and dirt bikes are some of his favorite things to do as well.
